Privacy policy

The short version
Glow & Gauge is a publisher, not a store. We have no accounts, no logins, no shopping cart and no payment processing, so there is very little about you for us to hold. The only personal information we ever receive is what you type into the contact form.
What we collect
When you send us a message
The contact form collects your name, email address, subject and message. That is emailed to info@glowandgauge.com and used to reply to you. We do not add you to a mailing list — we do not have one.
The form also records the moment the page loaded and your IP address, and uses both only to reject automated spam submissions. Neither is stored beyond the request.
When you read a page
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to count page views, referrers and outbound product clicks in aggregate. That tells us which pages are read and which links are clicked. It does not tell us who you are, and we do not attempt to identify individual visitors.
Google Analytics sets its own cookies and processes data under its own terms. If you would rather it did not, a browser-level blocker or Google’s own opt-out add-on stops it, and nothing on this site breaks if you do.
When you click a product link
Product links route through a redirect on this domain, which attaches our affiliate tag and sends you to the retailer. The retailer — currently Amazon — then sets its own cookie so that a purchase can be attributed to this site, typically for 24 hours.
We do not receive your name, address, payment details or order contents. What we receive is aggregate commission reporting: that a number of purchases were made, not who made them. The full disclosure.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent personal information. There is no market for what we hold.
- We do not run display advertising, ad networks or retargeting pixels.
- We do not operate a newsletter or any mailing list.
- We do not require or offer accounts, logins or profiles.
- We do not use a captcha service, so no third party fingerprints you to prove you are human.
Hosting and processors
- Vercel hosts the site and processes standard server request data.
- Google Analytics processes aggregate usage data.
- Microsoft Graph delivers contact-form email.
- Amazon receives affiliate referrals and sets its own cookies at its own site.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us a message, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices
- Block analytics with a browser setting, an extension, or Google’s opt-out add-on. The site works identically.
- Avoid affiliate cookies by navigating to the retailer directly instead of using our links.
- Ask us to delete a message you sent through the contact form. Email info@glowandgauge.com and we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it. There is no version buried in a changelog somewhere else.
